Most major carriers offer Bereavement/Compassionate fares for passengers traveling to and from funerals or for visiting seriously ill family members. Policies vary. Contact the airline or your travel agent for further information. Most airlines will ask for the name of a funeral director at the funeral home to confirm the reduced rate, so you may want to have this information available when you are scheduling your flight.



Airports

 

Washington Reagan National (DCA), Washington Dulles International (IAD), and Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall International (BWI) airports are all within driving distance. Washington Reagan National Airport offers a convenient Metro-rail (subway system) stop.

METRO-RAIL/METRO BUS

WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN AREA TRANSIT AUTHORITY

 

Robert A. Pumphrey Funeral Homes are both located near the Metro-rail Red Line. Pumphrey's Bethesda-Chevy Chase Funeral Home is a one-block walk north from the Bethesda Station. Pumphrey's Colonial Rockville Funeral Home is approximately one mile from the Rockville Station. This is a long walk or a short ride by cab or Ride-On Bus. Ride-On Buses #54 and # 63 both have stops on West Montgomery Avenue and leave the Rockville Metro Station throughout the day. The last Ride-On Bus to return to the Rockville Metro Station is scheduled on West Montgomery Avenue at 9:30 PM.
