Marta Alfonso (Mrs. Felipe M. Alfonso; Marta Vior de Alfonso)
She was a daughter of the late Maria Orosa Lopez and Joaquin Vior Prieto. Her parents were from Spain, From San Simon de la Cuesta, Galicia and Pianton, Asturias, respectively. She was born in Havana, Cuba. She married her husband, Felipe M. Alfonso in 1948. Before leaving Cuba in 1961, she worked as a secretary in Havana for Expresso Bilbao-Barcelona and later for the Havana Branch of the Royal Bank of Canada. Before arriving in the United States in 1963 she lived in Mexico for two years. She moved to the Washington, DC area in 1965 with her husband and children after living in Paducah, KY for two years. She was the beloved wife of Felipe M. Alfonso; mother of Francisco Alfonso, Marta F. Englehart (husband, Richard W. Englehart), Felipe C. Alfonso (wife, Cheryl Ranger Alfonso) and Maria St. Onge (husband, Daniel St. Onge); sister of Joaquin Vior (wife, Idora Alfonso, nee: Gomez-Alfonso) and the late Alvaro Vior; grandmother of Philip George Alfonso and Michelle Marie Alfonso.
