Passed away on February 2, 2014. A longtime resident of the District of Columbia and Silver Spring, Maryland, Marie was born on December 18, 1932 and raised in Maple Shade New Jersey. The daughter of Aloysius and Louise McBride (nee Miller), she was a devoted daughter and a loving sister to her brothers Edward and Joseph and sister Ellen. She was a loving aunt to her nephews Kevin and Michael and niece Lesley who loved their artistic and globe-trotting aunt. Marie cherished her friends who loved her quick smile and easy laugh. She faced challenges with kindness and empathy and touched and was touched by many people along her journey.
Marie was a dedicated educator and a life-long student. Educated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Maple Shade and Camden Catholic High School, she received her bachelor of arts degree from Catholic University of America and her master's degree in education from the University of Maryland. She taught for many years in D.C. public schools, including Park View Elementary and Janney Elementary. She cared deeply for her students and was passionate about their education.
