Thomas David Frank, 53, of Chevy Chase, and longtime resident of greater Washington, died Thursday, January 17, 2013.
Tom loved his family, his clients and colleagues at Chevy Chase Trust, where he was Managing Director, and the Washington Nationals, in roughly that order. He believed strongly in the importance of community work and served on the boards of the Whitman Walker Clinic, DC Cares, the Woolly Mammoth Theatre and more recently, the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation.
Family and friends will remember Tom for his warmth, loyalty, professionalism, sharp intellect and endless curiosity about the world. He could make those around him laugh easily with his incisive wit. Driven and focused, Tom had a disarming ability to quickly synthesize complicated information or situations to their essence. Always optimistic, he thought the best of people and was rarely disappointed.
Tom is survived by his wife Eriko Kennedy, a son David and daughter Rose; his brother Jon Frank (Virginia) of Peterborough, N.; and sister, Jenifer Frank of Hartford, Conn.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice or to the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation, P.O. Box 374, Birmingham, MI 48012, or online at www.clfoundation.org.
The memorial service will start at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 23 at the Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church, with burial to follow at Parklawn Cemetery.
